Why you feel bloated after meals 🍽️
If you feel bloated after almost every meal, I want you to know you are not alone. Bloating is one of the most common symptoms women tell me about, and it is often a sign that something deeper needs attention.
Bloating is not always caused by the food itself. It often has more to do with how your body is digesting and processing that food. When digestion is out of balance, even healthy meals can leave you feeling uncomfortable.
One reason you might feel bloated is low stomach acid. Many women are told they have too much acid, but the truth is that low acid makes it harder to break down food properly. When food sits too long in the stomach, it creates gas and pressure that leads to bloating.
Another common reason is a gut bacteria imbalance. Stress, antibiotics, high sugar intake, and processed foods can shift the balance of your microbiome. When the good and bad bacteria are out of sync, gas and bloating can show up quickly.
Food sensitivities can also play a role. Gluten, dairy, and certain sugars are common triggers. This does not mean you have to give up all your favorite foods. It simply means your body may be reacting to something it cannot process well right now.
The good news is that bloating is not something you have to live with forever. Once you understand what is causing the discomfort, you can begin to support your digestion in a way that brings relief and healing. Simple habits like slowing down when eating, including protein and fiber, drinking enough water, and managing stress can make a noticeable difference.
Your body is always communicating with you. Bloating is a message, not a failure. And if you need help figuring out what your gut is trying to say, I am here for you.
