You go to bed early. You try to eat clean. You’ve even cut back on caffeine. But no matter what you do, you wake up feeling like you barely slept—or worse, like you ran a marathon in your dreams.

You see, your gut isn’t just for digesting food. It’s home to trillions of bacteria that directly affect your hormones, immune system, brain, and energy levels. In fact, over 70% of your immune system lives in your gut, and so does the majority of your serotonin—the neurotransmitter that regulates sleep, mood, and even pain.

When your gut is inflamed or imbalanced (what we call dysbiosis), your body enters a constant state of stress. This hidden inflammation triggers your immune system to work overtime, draining your energy reserves without you even realizing it. It also disrupts your hormone pathways, making it harder for your thyroid, adrenal glands, and metabolism to function properly. Even your ability to absorb nutrients—like iron, B vitamins, and magnesium—can be compromised, leaving your body starved for what it needs to produce energy at a cellular level.
